Did Paris BFF Help (or hurt) Brittany Flickinger’s Music Career?

Everyone’s familiar with Paris Hilton’s BFF from season 1, Brittany Flickinger. She had some serious 15 minutes of fame. Yea, of course she tried to use it to further her music career – but did it actually help?

Like many people, we decided to check out Brittany’s music. She released 2 singles during her 15 minutes of fame. The first was “Treat me so bad” which is a Brittany Spears-ish type pop song with pretty good production. And the second was “Boy from Chicago” which was more of a classic singing style.

Both were pretty good. She has a pretty good voice – certainly as good if not better than other singers who make it. DEFINITELY better than Paris’ music. And, we’re going to assume she wrote her own lyrics, Brittany is a pretty good lyricist as well. The songs were somewhat catchy and actually made a bit of sense.

But we still have yet to see Brittany making moves other than getting a few myspace music adds. Why is Brittany not signed?

In our opinion, the Paris BFF show actually hurt Brittany’s chance of making it big in the music industry. Now, instead of being viewed by record labels and listeners as a solid musician and performer, she’s viewed as Paris’ leftovers. Instead of being a singer, she’s a reality tv contestant who decided to try singing – and that doesn’t sell very well.

We’ll have to see what happens in the future for Brittany. In the meantime, check out her Youtube release of “Treat me so bad” and leave you thoughts below.
