Episode 2: Keeping it Real

realworldIt seems like J.D.’s true colors are beginning to show in the second episode.  J.D. has been the sincere, nice guy in the house but for the first time another side to him is starting to seep through (with the help of alcohol that is).  At the end of the night J.D. returns home wasted (although how he got this drunk remains unclear as MTV completely cut any scenes from their night out) and is very upset about a “chapstick incident.”  He began to go off (in a hard to understand slur) about immigrants who can’t speak English.  Apparently the cash register attendant at the store did not understand the word “chapstick.”  This caused J.D. not to be able to purchase any and he was very upset.  What is most confusing to take away from this whole situation is the fact that J.D. goes on to explain that his parents are immigrants as well.
So is J.D. racist or not?
